Savage Arms Announces Stance, Micro 9mm Pistol

WESTFIELD, MA – Savage Arms is pleased to announce a new EDC handgun: Stance™. This micro-compact 9mm marks Savage’s return to concealed carry and self-defense and will be the first of a complete family of handguns built to the demanding standards of accuracy and reliability that have come to define Savage Arms.

“Since Savage was sold in July 2019, President and CEO Al Kasper publicly stated that Savage Arms would be a complete firearm company,” Robert Gates, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Savage Arms said. “Today, Savage is proud to announce its first step into what is the largest segment of the firearms market with the introduction of Stance, a micro compact 9mm pistol manufactured with premium materials, finishes, and features.”

“Stance is another momentous milestone for Savage,” Jessica Treglia, Sr. Brand Manager at Savage Arms added. “While this isn’t Savage’s first concealed carry pistol, and certainly not our first handgun, it has been more than a century since we focused on compact pistols purpose-built for every day carry. Stance is the first in a new series of handguns that will meet the accuracy and reliability standards that our customers expect, and a further demonstration of Savage’s commitment to build the best, most complete line of American made firearms.” Read more

FPC Argues Federal Law Banning Non-Violent Criminals from Firearms is Unconstitutiona

Under the history and tradition of the Second Amendment, non-violent felons should not lose their Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

PHILADELPHIA— The Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) announced the filing of an important brief with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in the case of Bryan Range v. Att’y General of the U.S., a case challenging the government’s lifetime ban on firearms possession as applied to a person who was convicted of a non-violent misdemeanor. FPC’s brief, joined by FPC Action Foundation (formerly named Firearms Policy Foundation), can be found at FPCLaw.org.

In 1995, Bryan Range was convicted in a Pennsylvania state court for making a false statement to obtain food stamps assistance, a class one misdemeanor. And under that conviction for a non-violent crime, he not only served no time in jail, but he made restitution for the crime. Range has been a peaceable citizen since, has been gainfully employed, and a family man, but because of the conviction twenty-six years ago, he is unconstitutionally banned forever from possessing and protecting himself and his family with firearms, a fundamental right protected by the Second Amendment.

“There is no tradition in American history of banning peaceable citizens from owning firearms,” FPC’s brief argues. “The historical justification Heller relied on to declare felon bans ‘presumptively lawful’ must have been the tradition of disarming dangerous persons.” The brief notes that in English tradition, “dangerous persons” were most often “disaffected persons disloyal to the current government, who might want to overthrow it—or political opponents defined as such.” American history, from the early colonial days through the mid-twentieth century, followed the same tradition. Peaceable persons like Mr. Range, by contrast, were never prohibited from exercising their right to keep and bear arms.

“Lying on a government form to acquire more food stamps for your family is not the type of crime that justifies the permanent elimination of the human right to keep and bear arms for self-defense,” explained FPC attorney Matthew Larosiere, who co-authored the brief. “The right to keep and bear arms is not a privilege reserved to America’s ruling class, and the government cannot support its ban as applied to Mr. Range under a proper constitutional analysis.” Read more

The extended hunt is both a chance for hunters to pursue some high-quality deer and an opportunity for local officials to manage urban deer conflicts in their communities. Hunting is one option that can be used to decrease human/deer conflicts by controlling deer population numbers in affected areas.

Licenses for this season include a deer license, a deer combo license or an antlerless deer license. All rules and regulations for the archery season apply. Read more

USA Archery Builds on Success of Explore Archery in Michigan

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – In 2017, USA Archery established a partnership with mParks to grow archery at the community level in Michigan. With the generous support of Easton Foundations and the Archery Trade Association, Explore Archery grants were awarded to twelve communities in Michigan. Each grant, valued at $4,000, provided a complete equipment kit and the Explore Archery program curriculum, materials and achievement awards. Two staff members from each community were also certified as USA Archery Level 2 Instructors. In just two years, that initial investment grew to fifteen programs across Michigan that introduced nearly 10,000 new archers to the sport and generated over $2.6 million in archery equipment sales.

Building on this incredible level of success, USA Archery again partnered with the Easton Foundations and mParks in 2021 to bring trainings to ten new communities in the state:

    • City of Coldwater
    • City of Oak Park
    • City of Petoskey
    • City of Port Huron

Brownells Donates to Special Operations Wounded Warriors

 GRINNELL, Iowa

During that week in November, Brownells pledged to give a percentage of all sales from www.Brownells.com to SOWW.

Strong support from Brownells customers made it possible to send a hefty check to the 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to helping Purple Heart recipients of the Special Operations community through therapeutic outdoor experiences and other services.

Many of SOWW’s typical fundraising activities such as benefit dinners and live auctions have been curtailed during the pandemic, making outside donations even more critical to its mission.

“We are very grateful for our customers who helped us fund this awesome organization,” said Brownells Chariman Pete Brownell. “Thank you all for helping fund SOWW and for supporting the warfighters who benefit from SOWW.”

“We are forever thankful for the continued support that Brownells has offered Special Operations Wounded Warriors,” said SOWW President Joel Pellicci. “They have been a partner in charity since our inception and they continue to be a major source of funds and support of our efforts to help special operations veterans throughout the year.  Brownells’ support over the past two years has been our charity’s lifeblood due to the loss of annual fundraising events because of Covid 19 impacts.”

The SOWW Board of Directors accept no salaries and SOWW maximizes its ability to directly support veterans and their families in every way it can.
