Hebron, KY – Anderson Manufacturing adds to its AM-15 lineup by unveiling their new Precision Series rifles built for competition shooters of all walks at an MSRP under $1,000.

The Anderson AM-15 Precision Series consists of four rifles: The Competitor, The Marksman, The Sharpshooter and The Varminter, all chambered in 5.56, come equipped with a Schmid Tool two-stage trigger and Magpul PRS (Precision Rifle Series) Lite stock.

The Schmid Tool two-stage trigger has a four-and-a-half-pound pull, allowing for a crisp trigger squeeze and quick reset.

The Magpul PRS Lite stock allows for shooter versatility with ambidextrous and quick-detach sling mounts in front and rear of stock, comb height and length of pull are fully adjustable and shooter can adjust the low-profile rubber butt-pad for height and cant. NRA School Shield Grant Program Now Accepting Applications for School Security Projects

Fairfax, Va. – The National Rifle Association of America is pleased to announce the opening of the 2022 application period for the NRA School Shield Grant Program. Available to all accredited non-profit and public K-12 schools, including private and parochial schools, grants are provided by The NRA Foundation for school security improvements and related activities. The grant application period is open until the end of the day on August 31, 2022.

“The NRA has been at the forefront of providing training and financial resources to keep our children safe and secure in school,” said Joseph P. DeBergalis, Jr., executive director of NRA General Operations. “Many schools indicate insufficient funding as the reason for not enhancing security. Recognizing that school security is a multifaceted issue, The NRA Foundation is making it possible for educational institutions to implement necessary enhancements to keep their students safe.”

First introduced in 2012, NRA School Shield has a singular mission – to protect our Nation’s most precious resources: our children. NRA School Shield offers local law enforcement officials free training on how to conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments of school security. The NRA School Shield Grant Program is a key component of NRA School Shield, providing financial resources for necessary projects and activities to create a safe learning environment. During the last request period for NRA School Shield grants, over one million dollars was awarded to schools across America.

Projects and activities eligible for NRA School Shield grants include improvements to infrastructure, technology, training, and policies to enact best practices in school security. This can include, but is not limited to, perimeter fencing updates and repairs, secured visitor entry systems, surveillance equipment, improved communication systems, and emergency kits. Grants awarded by The NRA Foundation for NRA School Shield are made possible due to the generosity of NRA members, in large part through the Friends of the NRA program. The NRA Foundation is America’s largest charitable organization in support of the shooting sports and NRA programs, including NRA School Shield.

DSC Announces First Round of 2022 Grant Recipients

Every year, the Dallas Safari Club (DSC) funds projects and initiatives in support of its mission of Conservation, Education and Advocacy. The following list represents the first round of grant recipients for 2022.

Alaska Professional Hunters Association (APHA)—the professional guide industry organization in Alaska will use these funds to protect the future of non-resident hunting in Alaska.

Bringing Back the Lions—this book by outdoor writer Mike Arnold tells the full story of Coutada 11 and the miraculous rescue of a doomed ecosystem in Mozambique following a long civil war.

Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF)—the leader on policy issues for sportsmen and sportswomen in the United States will use these funds to protect and advance hunting, angling, recreational shooting and trapping opportunities.

Conservation Visions—a global wildlife initiative led by Shane Mahoney will use these funds to expand engagement and support for science-based sustainable use both internationally and domestically.

Guide Outfitters Association of British Columbia (GOABC)—an organization that advocates for science-based wildlife management will use these funds to combat efforts to end cougar, lynx, bobcat and grizzly bear hunting in British Columbia.

Parties Move to Dismiss Maryland Carry Ban Lawsuit After New York’s Defeat in Bruen

RICHMOND, VA – Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) announced today that, because of Maryland Governor Hogan’s concession and order to cease the state’s utilization of its ‘good and substantial reason’ carry permit standard, the parties have filed a joint motion to dismiss the Call v. Jones litigation as moot. Case documents can be viewed at FPCLegal.org.

“Both the Supreme Court’s decision in Bruen, as well as the Governor’s response, render this case moot,” the parties say in the motion. “By concluding that New York’s discretionary scheme violated the Second Amendment, the Supreme Court’s decision, in effect, thereby also invalidated laws that had ‘analog[ous]’ schemes, including that embodied in Maryland’s ‘good and substantial reason’ requirement. Governor Hogan’s executive action affirmed this conclusion and formalized the State’s intent to comply with Bruen.”

“Make no mistake, although called a dismissal, this is a massive win for all Marylanders, and demonstrates exactly how Bruen will have far reaching effects across the country,” said FPC’s Senior Attorney for Constitutional Litigation Cody J. Wisniewski. “It is encouraging that Mayland has accepted defeat in this instance, but FPC will remain vigilant to ensure that the Old Line State fully complies with both the letter and spirit of not just the Bruen opinion, but the Second Amendment writ large.” Read more
