Michigan: NRC Approves 2021 Deer Hunting Regulations

Deer hunting regulations for the 2021 season were approved Thursday by the Michigan Natural Resources Commission at its regular meeting, hosted virtually. The changes, aimed at further simplifying deer regulations and removing barriers to hunting participation, go into effect with the start of the 2021 deer hunting seasons in September.

The regulations will provide additional opportunity, flexibility and cost savings for hunters and – based on existing and projected data the Department of Natural Resources uses to gauge the impact of proposed regulations – are not expected to have a significant negative effect on the deer herd or the quality of deer hunting.

“Our goals with these regulations are twofold: to make hunting regulations easier to understand and follow in Michigan, and also to manage Michigan’s abundant deer herd,” said DNR deer program specialist Chad Stewart. “We feel that these changes move us in the right direction.”

CCRKBA Updates ‘Don’t Feed Them’ Anti-Gun Business List

BELLEVUE, WA – The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms today announced it is updating its list of businesses and CEOs who push for increased gun control and prohibition, adding Gucci to the roster.

According to CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, “We were reminded that Gucci donated $500,000 to the anti-gun March for Our Lives group started three years ago, and quickly was co-opted by the gun prohibition lobby.”

CCRKBA’s “Don’t Feed the Gun Prohibitionists” project has developed a dynamic list of businesses and CEOs who have been pushing for new legislation designed to impair the rights of law-abiding firearms owners. The current roster lists some 200 businesses and their CEOs. Read more

TALLADEGA, Alabama – The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) is excited to announce new developments for 2021 at its Talladega Marksmanship Park in Alabama. Over the last year, Talladega’s staff members have taken the time to carefully consider dynamic improvements to the facility, with guest satisfaction in mind.

A major addition to look forward to at Talladega in 2021 is the Unknown Distance Range – now open and ready for marksmen and women to test their skills upon 12 metal targets in the shape of life-size animals, including elk, deer, bears and hogs.

“We want people to come and use the Unknown Distance Range because it’s something different,” said Greg Raines, CMP’s business development manager. “It’s turning into one of our more popular ranges.”

Guests to the Unknown Distance Range can fire at targets set at various yards, at random, for more of a challenge behind the trigger. Reaching distances as far as 620 yards, the range also features over 100 stationary targets. Read more
