As previously reported here by the NRA-ILA, the Michigan State Police are still trying to defeat House Bill 5225, legislation that would eliminate the state handgun “permit-to-purchase” and registration requirements in Michigan. This important legislation is currently pending consideration by the state Senate, so the Senate leadership needs to hear from gun owners across Michigan today! The score was made official by Kenny Leo, a long-time B&C scorer based in Price, Utah.

Michigan House Bill 5249 that would allow the use of certain specific rifles during the regular firearm deer season in the area that is currently restricted to only shotguns, muzzleloaders, and certain types of pistols has passed a House vote and has been referred to committee of Outdoor Recreation and Tourism. From there the bill heads to the Senate, and if passed, to Governor Snyder for signature.
To date there has been little resistance to the notion of using relatively low-powered, straight-wall centerfire rifles in Zone III. When compared to modern shotguns and modern in-line muzzleloaders, this “new” brand of caliber pales. Once again, Republican leadership is on the verge of restoring some of our lost rights, which were originally taken from us on strictly arbitrary reasons based on misconceptions. Read more
During an internal quality review, Carl Walther GmbH has identified a condition that may exist in certain PK380 pistols which may permit a round to be discharged if the trigger is pulled, despite engagement of the manual safety. Walther has found that engagement of the manual safety may not prevent firing of a chambered round when the trigger is pulled.
This recall applies to Walther PK380, .380 ACP pistols manufactured by Carl Walther GmbH from May through September 2012, which have a serial number range from PK101201 to PK112155.
