EOTech Introduces Two New Holographic Weapon Sights

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – EOTech, an L3 company, announced today that it has introduced two new holographic weapon sights (HWS), the XPS2 Green and EXPS2 Green, at the 2018 National Rifle Association’s (NRA) Annual Meetings and Exhibits in Dallas, Texas.
The XPS2 and EXPS2 sights have been favorites of hunters, shooters and law enforcement officers since their introduction in 2009. Now, with the addition of easy-to-see green reticles, which make it approximately six times easier to see in daylight, the XPS2 Green and EXPS2 Green provide users with faster target acquisition.
“EOTech’s new easy-to-see green reticles enhance our proven XPS2 and EXPS2 HWS, expand our portfolio and ensure that our products continue to meet the demands and expectations of our loyal customers,” said Ann Hanson, Chief Marketing Officer for EOTech. “We are excited to launch these new sights during this year’s NRA Annual Meetings, and look forward to seeing and hearing the response from the market.”
At just 3.8 inches in length and weighing a mere 9 ounces, the XPS2 is the shortest and lightest HWS offered by EOTech. It runs on a single 123 lithium battery, and its compact configuration leaves more rail space for rear iron sights or magnifiers.
The EXPS2 sight features easy-to-adjust side buttons and a quick-detach lever. Its increased height of 2.9 inches enables iron sight co-witness access in the lower third of the viewing window. Like the XPS2, the EXPS2 runs on a single 123 lithium battery.
The manufacturer’s suggested retail prices of the XPS2 Green and EXPS2 Green are $665 and $699, respectively. Read more

SIG SAUER Launches BDX Electro-Optics System

NEWINGTON, N.H., (May 4, 2018) – The SIG SAUER Electro-Optics division today unveiled their all new Ballistic Data Xchange (BDX) rangefinders and riflescopes with integrated Applied Ballistics® and wireless Bluetooth® technology.  This groundbreaking BDX technology enables interoperability and key ballistic holdover information to be exchanged wirelessly between SIG SAUER BDX Electro-Optics products.  The foundation of the BDX system was designed for simplicity and ease of use.  SIG SAUER BDX requires no new learning, and uses the same tools hunters and shooters have been using for years.

How does BDX work? The BDX rangefinder and riflescope system is simple, fast, and intuitive.  Simply download the “SIG BDX” app available for Android or iOS smartphones, pair the KILO BDX rangefinder and SIERRA3BDX riflescope, set up a basic ballistic profile, and then you’re ready to shoot or hunt.  Once you are in the field, range your target as you normally would, and the KILO BDX rangefinder will utilize onboard Applied Ballistics Ultralight™ to instantly send your dope to the scope via Bluetooth.  Using your basic ballistic profile the ballistic solution is calculated for your target and will instantly illuminate on the BDX-R1 Digital Ballistic Reticle with windage and elevation holds in the SIERRA3BDX riflescope.  A blue LED on the riflescope power selector indicates that the BDX system is paired, and when the reticle has received new ballistic holdover and windage data from the rangefinder.

“Rangefinding riflescopes of the past have had two major shortcomings: they are either big, boxy and heavy, or extremely expensive,” said Andy York, president, SIG SAUER Electro-Optics.  “The revolutionary and affordable BDX system packs advanced ballistics technology into a simple platform that looks just like the rangefinder and riflescope that every hunter is using today. It is extremely simple to use; range a target, put the digital ballistic holdover dot on target, pull the trigger, impact.  Incredibly accurate and extremely simple, just connect the dot.”

The BDX family of rangefinders includes: KILO1400BDX, KILO1800BDX, KILO2200BDX, KILO2400BDX, and KILO3000BDX rangefinder binocular.  These rangefinders include many of the legacy features that the KILO name was built on: Lightwave DSP™ digital rangefinder engine, Hyperscan™ with 4 times per second scan rate, RangeLock™, and the Lumatic™ auto-adjusting display. Burris Introduces Oracle Rangefinding Bow Sight

Provides exact distance to target and exact aiming points

GREELEY, CO — For over a decade, the Burris Eliminator LaserScope set the standards ballistic laser scope technology. To continue this legacy and commitment to hunters of all kinds, Burris introduces the Oracle laser-rangefinding bow sight, instantly providing compound bow-hunters exact distance to target and exact aiming point while at full draw.

The Oracle was designed for bow hunters who understand the importance of minimal movement and properly ranging targets when mere seconds and feet count. The Oracle eliminates aiming between pins by instantly calculating and displaying the exact aiming point for any distance and shot angle.

The laser activation button mounts to the riser for quick, convenient access.  A quick push of the button activates the built-in IR laser rangefinder. Within seconds, the range to the target is shown along with an illuminated pin for the exact drop and angle-compensated aim point.

The illuminated aiming pins are displayed on the vertical LED trajectory bar running through the entire midsection of the sight. The bar also displays a fixed 20-yard pin for a constant reference point when ranging targets. If the ranging is unsuccessful, the sight will display standard dots in 10-yard increments starting with the 20-yard pin.

The Oracle will learn the trajectory or drop for two different arrow configurations and will accommodate up to 176 inches of drop at 100 yards. Most bow set-ups will be able to achieve 80-110 yards depending on bow speed and arrow weight. Read more
