Nothing new here, but his answer to gun-free zone shootings is to keep the status quo, as if current laws will work to stop killers. BELLEVUE, WA – A surprising victory for gun rights in Puerto Rico has eliminated the firearms registry and licensing requirements to purchase and carry in the Commonwealth, the Second Amendment Foundation has confirmed.
As of now, according to Sandra Barreras with Ladies of the Second Amendment (LSA), the group that brought the lawsuit, “there is no regulation to purchase or carry (and) all purchases will be handled in accordance with federal firearms regulations.” LSA is affiliated with SAF through the International Association for the Protection of Civilian Arms Rights (IAPCAR). One man is dead and another in stable condition at the hospital, after a 77-year-old Florida man found them in his Redland home, grabbed his gun, and fired and struck them both, police said. Details here…
BELLEVUE, WA – The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) today won a preliminary injunction against the District of Columbia and Metropolitan Police Chief Cathy Lanier’s enforcement of a requirement to provide a “good reason” when applying for a concealed carry permit.
Judge Frederick J. Scullin ordered that the city is “enjoined from denying handgun carry licenses to applicants who meet the requirements of D.C. Code 22-4506(a) and all other current requirements for the possession and carrying of handguns under District of Columbia law.” Read more
Boulder, Co. police say Roberto Zamora, 19, forced his way into a residence at about 8:40 p.m. May 4 and attacked resident Jim McCain. McCain shot and killed him. Details here…
