Team Blaser Continues Winning Streak at 2025 World Skeet Championships

San Antonio, Texas – Team Blaser dominated at the 2025 World Skeet Championships once again with Caile Bradham winning HOA World Champion (498/500) and HAA World Champion (598/600). This was the second year in a row that a Team Blaser member won both prestigious titles. Bradham was also Worlds 12 Gauge Runner-up, Worlds Doubles AAA Class Champion, and Mini-Worlds .410 Champion.

The 2025 NSSA Mini-World Skeet Championships were held September 26-28 at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, Texas, followed by the NSSA World Skeet Championships September 29 – October 4.

Sixty moose have been killed in vehicle collisions over the past four years in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, with most of the crashes occurring on stretches of highway in the western U.P.

The fall and summer months, when moose are particularly active, are the most common times for collisions. About a third of all moose deaths from vehicle collisions occur in September and October, according to statistics compiled by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Division and the Michigan Department of Transportation.

A dead moose is shown lying in a ditch along a U.P. highway after a moose-vehicle crash.On June 17, a female moose raising twin calves was killed by a vehicle at one of the hotspots – U.S. 141 in northern Iron County – likely removing three moose from the population because calves are dependent on their mother.

Over the past decade, the moose population in Michigan’s core range (Baraga, Marquette and Iron counties) has remained between 300 and 500 animals, and DNR wildlife biologists are researching the reasons behind why the population has remained relatively stagnant.

There have been no known human deaths from moose-vehicle collisions, but the potential is always there when a car traveling 55-65 mph or more meets a 1,000-pound animal, said Tyler Petroelje, the DNR’s northern Michigan wildlife research specialist.

“In a sense, Michigan has been very lucky,” Petroelje said. “But at the same time, I think that’s one of those things that is a reality – it could happen at any point.”

Mountain Lion Killed in Hot Spring County Vehicle Collision

A motorist struck and killed a mountain lion on Arkansas Highway 84 near Exit 91 of Interstate 30 in Hot Spring County at about 10 p.m. Wednesday. This is the first mountain lion confirmed dead in the wild in Arkansas since February 2024 and only the third confirmed dead since 1975.

Arkansas Game and Fish Commission staff responded to the scene after the Hot Spring County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the road-killed animal and collected the large cat. The mountain lion was a healthy male that measured 83 inches from the tip of the tail to the tip of the nose and weighed approximately 160 pounds during initial measurements. The AGFC is collecting samples from the animal and will send them to an independent laboratory for analysis to determine its origin and age. Read more

K9 Storm, Game Warden Chad Robertson Locate Missing 91-Year-Old Man

K9 Storm and Game Warden Chad Robertson located a missing elderly Edgecomb man Thursday evening just as freezing temperatures started to set in.

Valmar Thompson, age 91 of Edgecomb, lives alone at his house in Edgecomb, and has caregivers who are there each day. Yesterday, when one of the caregivers arrived at 10:00 a.m., Thompson was not there, yet the house and stove were still warm, indicating that he was there recently. The caregiver was not alarmed, as Thompson often worked around his property during the day, but when he did not return, the caregiver called Lincoln County Sherriffs office, who contacted the Maine Warden Service.

Game Wardens and members of the Sheriff’s office and the Edgecomb Fire Department searched the area, and at approximately 5:40 p.m., Game Warden Robertson and K9 Storm located Thompson in the woods, disoriented, and sitting on a stone wall with one shoe missing. Game Wardens and other assisted getting Thompson out of the woods as his knee was hurting, and he was loaded onto an ATV, and brought out to a waiting ambulance where he was examined but not transported by emergency medical personnel, and then released to his family. FPC Statement on Trump Administration’s Latest Attack on the Second Amendment

Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) issued the following statement in response to the Solicitor General’s opposition, filed on behalf of the Trump Administration, in Rush v. United States, a challenge to the National Firearms Act’s (NFA) short-barreled rifle restrictions:

Once again, the Trump Administration has chosen to defend federal gun control instead of the Constitution. In its latest filing, the administration urged the Supreme Court to reject review of a case raising a serious and valid Second Amendment challenge to the NFA’s short-barreled rifle provisions—laws with no historical justification and no place in a free society.

The administration’s position on the Second Amendment is now unmistakably clear: federal gun control is good and constitutional, but state gun control is bad and unconstitutional—unless, of course, it mirrors the federal controls they favor.

Earlier this year, President Trump directed the Attorney General to “protect the Second Amendment rights of all Americans.” Filing briefs that defend the government’s power to tax, register, and criminalize the mere possession of constitutionally protected arms does the exact opposite. Read more
