CCRBKA: Hunter Biden Gun Charge Deal “An Outrage, Insult”

BELLEVUE, WA – Tuesday’s announced “tentative deal” to resolve a federal gun law violation involving Hunter Biden—son of anti-gun-rights President Joe Biden—is “an insult to the intelligence of the American people,” the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said in response.

“Why should anybody respect any gun laws if the president’s son gets a pass,” CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb questioned. “The American public should be outraged at what amounts to a deplorable double standard.

“It is important to note that none of the gun prohibition lobbying groups have uttered a word of condemnation,” he continued. “This fact alone shows what hypocrites they are, and what a hypocrite Joe Biden is. Their silence is deafening.”

Gottlieb noted how President Biden has spent his entire political career campaigning for strict gun control, including bans on so-called “assault weapons” and more recently, an acknowledged effort to prevent the sale of 9mm pistols. But the rules evidently change when the president’s son is involved in a federal gun crime that would result in fines and imprisonment for up to ten years for anybody else who knowingly lied about not being a prohibited person, to obtain a handgun.

“If Joe Biden wasn’t president,” Gottlieb said, “Hunter Biden would be heading to jail. Looks like the biggest loophole of them all is to violate a federal gun law when you’re the president’s son.” Read more

NSSF Criticizes DOJ Deal for Hunter Biden’s Gun Crimes

WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, criticizes the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) plea agreement with Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, to avoid prosecution for illegally possessing a firearm as an admitted drug user. The agreement comes at the same time the Biden administration is punishing firearm retailers by revoking licenses and terminating livelihoods for minor clerical errors with its “zero-tolerance” policy.

The Biden administration and the Attorney General Merrick Garland-led DOJ are more interested in appealing to special-interest gun control donors than they are concerned with upholding the law. This agreement fuels Americans’ concerns that the Biden administration supports two systems of justice – one that protects the Biden administration, the Biden family and its political allies and another that doles out punishments for those who oppose the Biden administration’s policies.

“Under this administration’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy, licensed firearm retailers have had their lives destroyed for paperwork mistakes far less egregious than buying a gun when you are a crack addict,” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF’s Senior Vice President and General Counsel. “They are not serious about reducing gun violence, only scoring cheap political points. It is worth noting this announcement came today, after President Biden’s appearance in Hartford last Friday to call for gun control.”

President Biden appeared at the National Safer Communities Summit in Hartford, Conn., during which he again called on Congress to pass unconstitutional gun control measures that would ban an entire class of commonly-owned semiautomatic rifles and for suing members of the firearm industry. QUWF Preliminary Nest Predator Data is Very Promising for Turkey and Ground Nesting Birds

Buffalo, MO: The populations of turkey and quail are affected by many environmental challenges. Extreme weather, quality habitat loss and by 2 types of predations; normal adult predation and that of nest predation. Nesting survival of ground nesting birds such as turkeys and quail is a critical focus across many parts of the country. It is a known fact; predators can negatively impact nesting survival across the landscape. How much so we are yet to totally measure but this preliminary data of a 3-year study by QUWF is showing a dramatic improvement swing where nest predation is being focused on. Even some biologists may themselves treat predation with blinders on at times, thinking it’s a natural condition that occurs. Unfortunately, when the balance is totally out of whack, science shows a different approach may be needed. OSCF Research Shows Decline in Gen Pop Support of Fishing, Target Shooting and Hunting

Middlebury, CT – A comprehensive research study conducted by Responsive Management for Outdoor Stewards of Conservation Foundation (OSCF) looked to gain insights into the current attitudes of adult Americans regarding fishing, target shooting, hunting, and trapping.

The project was a continuation of similar studies conducted by Responsive Management and provides trend data dating as far back as 1995. As the longest running study on Americans’ attitudes toward these activities, it is a useful tool for understanding both historical trends as well as the current sentiments of Americans.

Report results paint an ominous picture for those that work within the outdoor industry. General population support for fishing, target shooting, and hunting has declined since the study was last conducted. For example, approval of both legal recreational fishing and recreational target shooting declined by three percent (3%) while approval of legal hunting went down by four percent (4%). Read more
